Shed Noticeboard - Sentinel Trust Report
No. 6515 is available for service. No. 9537 is available for service. This locomotive has had the bonnet repainted and new inspection doors are being made. The engine unit has been degreased and repainted - and the water tank has been needle-gunned and coated with bitumen. More paint has been applied and work is currently centred on the gear boxes and counter shaft, with a view to refitting these items this year. Work has been started on the box van and at present the metalwork is being painted. The headstocks have been removed prior to replacement. The new items will be fitted with replacement drawhooks and the newly-repaired buffers. The floor in the power car has been replaced and the repanelling and repainting of the middle car completed. Both handbrake castings have been repaired and fitted, the brake rodding fitted to the trailer car and the hand brake made operational. Preventative maintenance has been carried out on the boiler to stop any corrosion and the exterior of the entire unit has been repainted. |
