Jim Stevens and Alan Vessey have provided the steam and electric services at Open Days and the VAMES track is a popular attraction to visitors. Track laying has extended the amount of line to over 400ft. and fencing has been erected for crowd control. Many VAMES members have done a tremendous amount of hard work preparing the approach road and turning area, and making ready for the signal box.

(Is distortion of track by the heat of the sun a problem? If so, how do you solve it?- JRF)
