The August Bank Holiday Weekend
![]() Photo: |
The final Bank Holiday weekend of 1978 was most successful and the attendance on all three days was good, especially on the Monday when we held our Vintage Car and Motor Cycle Rally. The Quaintonian ran the popular shuttle service to and from Aylesbury and we were very obliged to Mr Pugh for arranging such a resplendent DMU because the two tone livery contrasted with the somewhat similar livery of our MSLR six wheeler on the adjoining track! |

The museum is continuing to be very popular and it is interesting to hear the comments of local residents when they are reminded of how things were in their younger days. One man was heard trying to explain to his young son where Aylesbury High Street station once was! These pictures are selected to show the spirit of Open Days and to encourage those members who are not taking an active part in helping the Society. I am sure they will realise the pleasure we give to so many thousands of visitors every year. |
